7. International Transfers

Some of the external services referred to above may be operated outside Japan, and personal information may be transferred abroad as a result. The Company will take appropriate measures in accordance with applicable laws.

8. Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Service uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain functionality, measure usage, improve the Service, and for marketing. In addition, when a user navigates to an external site via an affiliate link, the External Operator may use tracking technologies such as cookies and pixels for conversion measurement (details are set forth in Section 10). For details on cookies and similar technologies, please review the Cookie Policy.

9. Links to External Sites and Third-Party Services

The Service includes links (which may include affiliate links) to sales or search pages of Amazon (Japan and overseas), Rakuten Ichiba, Yahoo! Shopping, and other External Operators. These external sites are operated by independent third parties and handle information under their own privacy policies and cookie policies.

The Company assumes no responsibility for the handling of personal information or other information on external sites. Before using external sites, please review each site’s privacy policy.

10. Affiliate Links and Tracking

The Service uses affiliate programs such as Amazon Associates and Rakuten Affiliate. Not every external link is an affiliate link. Affiliate links are handled as follows.

  • Affiliate links displayed by the Service include identifiers (such as Amazon Associate tags and Rakuten affiliate IDs) used to attribute conversions (clicks or purchases) to the Company. When a user clicks such a link and navigates to an external site, these identifiers are transmitted to the destination External Operator.
  • External Operators such as Amazon and Rakuten Ichiba may obtain information about users’ browsing and purchases using cookies, pixels, and other tracking technologies for conversion measurement. Collection and use of such information are governed by those External Operators’ privacy policies and cookie policies and are not controlled by the Company.
  • The Company may receive reports from External Operators within the scope necessary for conversion aggregation and commission payment (such as statistical information on the number and amount of conversions), but does not receive individual users’ names, addresses, payment information, or other purchase details.
  • Users may refuse such tracking to a certain extent by disabling or deleting cookies through browser settings (see Section 8 and the Cookie Policy).

11. Retention Period

The Company retains information for the period necessary to achieve the purposes of use or as required by law, and strives to appropriately delete or anonymize information that is no longer needed.

  • Upon logout: When a user logs out, chat history (conversation content), message feedback, synced favorites stored on the device, and similar data are immediately erased from the device and, as a rule, deleted from the Company’s servers within 30 days. If the user logs in again within 30 days, the scheduled deletion is canceled and the stored data remains available.
  • Upon account deletion: After account deletion, related data is deleted within a reasonable period (see the Terms of Service and the account deletion feature description for details).
  • Temporary chats: Conversations started as temporary chats are designed not to be saved as ordinary history.
  • Use for model improvement: If cooperation for model improvement was previously enabled, data that has already been anonymized or de-identified may fall outside the scope of the deletions described above.
  • Some data may be retained beyond the periods above for legal obligations, security, prevention of unauthorized use, or similar reasons.

12. Security Measures

The Company takes reasonable technical and organizational measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal information and otherwise ensure its security.
